Bonnet Release Broken

I don't suppose any one knows how to open up the bonnet without the release mechanism working!

Went to open the bonnet using the release handle in the footwell but would not open. I then removed the cable from the handle and tried to get some more 'pull' with some pliers but still would not open.

It sounds as though the cable has snapped or the internal catch on the bonnet is goosed!

Any suggestions

Re: Bonnet Release Broken

They usually seize up.

Try getting a mate to bounce the front end of the bonnet while pulling on the lever.

Re: Bonnet Release Broken

Could you reach up to the catch if you pushed the lower central bumper grille out?

Re: Bonnet Release Broken

Have finally managed to get my bonnet open this morning.

Jacked the car up and removed the front cover tray from underneath (4 screws).

Managed to reach up with my arm and press the latch mechanism and hey presto bonnet open

Just have to get a new cable now as this one is goosed.
