Bonnet release that doesn't

Hi,

I've got a standard V-reg, 1.6 litre, 5 door, GLXI. Went to check the fluid levels & top up the washer bottle today & found that the bonnet release catch isn't working any longer.

I don't think that the cable's actually snapped & I only had the bonnet up for the same puropse last weekend.

Does anybody know if there's a way of getting the bonnet release to work now that the cable looks to have stretched?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks, managed to get an arm in & release it from underneath. Looks like the cable's stretched; not that there appears to be much holding it place anyway. Bit of a sod to get to but I guess that I shouldn't complain, only trouble I've had with the car & still manage to get up to 40 mpg.
