| Briskodian | Boost Problem Hi there, I purchased my skoda Rs a few months ago. Its on a 52 plate and it has a problem. After 4000rpm the boost goes. The garage have had the car back and fitted it with a new turbo, thinking that was the problem. But it wasn't. They have had the car for two weeks now and they still have no idea whats wrong with it. The car has been sent away to a skoda dealer and they don't know whats wrong with it. They've put new sensors on, changed settings, checked for leaks, pretty much everything you could check for and have found no cure. It's going to another specialist tomorrow to be put on a more powerful computer, which can check for more things apparently. So my reason for posting this is to see if any of you guys have had similar problems, or might possibly know whats wrong with it. As you can imagine im getting quite annoyed now. Any response would be mostly appreciated. Dan. |

| Briskodian | Re: Boost Problem No fault codes no. According to the vag computer the car is perfect, there's nothing wrong with it. |

| Briskodian | Re: Boost Problem Basically what happens is the boost kicks in just after the 1500 mark and is pretty quick. As soon as it hits 4000 the boost goes and the car struggles for power there after. So i have to change gear to get boost again, very annoying especially when you are trying to overtake! Hope this is a better description. |

| Re: Boost Problem do you know if the car has been chipped at all?? it may be that it is a valet mode which limits the power and boost levels |

| Re: Boost Problem the other thing i would get the garage to check is that the the hoses to and from the turbo and the boost modulator valve have been connected up in the right place..... i did this on a tsde engine once and it didn't matter what i tried, it wouln't go over 5psi boost... |

| Briskodian | Re: Boost Problem cheers.....I will give them a call tomorrow and suggest that to them. Is there anything else that it could be? To me it seems as if it could be a very simple problem that everyone has overlooked. |

| Re: Boost Problem yeah could be the maf..... or a whole long list of other things. the rouble with a diagnostics check is that it only tells you if a sensor is out of range, a sensor could be malfunctioning and still be in 'range' as it were |

| Re: Boost Problem agreed it does sound like a maf fault - or the wiring to the maf - check the multi plug on to the maf some skoada dealers have changed the teminals to gold types due to corrosion / poor connection mine was done as mine lacked power at the middle/top rev range but the turbo was still boosting, maybe there is a boost spike causing it to shut the boost ie N75 valve fault causing over boost up to 4000 rpm then shuts it off as not to blow the turbo - just a thought let us know the out come Last edited by jimmyskeen; 18-10-2006 at 11:19.
