| That worried me because my brakes are not consistent. I have notice that my car after 60,000 miles has far in excess of the ware and ridges on the disk than I have experience on other makes. I am planning to do a disk and pad change soon. Is this a Skoda flaw? |

| Different makes even different cars will have different wear and corrosion rates, different manufacturers use different qualities of steel for the brake discs. Neither of the discs above look that bad, although I would have changed them also.

| i was just concerned that only part of the pad and disc was working on the inside on both sides. had some issues with some whirring sounds etc which is probably explained by this. either way new discs and pads are great.

| You will find the pad doesnt go right to the edge anyhow. The corrosioin starts on the unswept edge of the disc and gradually moves inwards. This tends to happen more so on the inner edge, more than likely due to the heat sheild.

| looks to me as the pad is too small and only catching 3/4 of the disk? |

| Mine looked like that when i changed them and lets be honest if you get to 60k and they are like that they dont really owe you anything do they? I was told by a few people that discs go more on the insides anyway? |

| The thing that concerns me is the cracks in your brothers disk. Glad he changed them, any seriously heavy braking and his disk could have shattered taking most of the front wheel with it! Seen it happen with a number of cars, and doesn't leave much behind. |

| Don't think it's worth worrying about, mine were similar if not worse when I replaced them a couple of weeks ago. They still worked better than most other cars I have driven.
