| Briskodian | Brake pad replacement i need to replace the pads on my 1.9tdi, any ideas as to a decent set but not mega bucks. i dont mind paying around £50, and i dont have a clue if you can even get decent pads for that. Bit to un-educated when it comes to the greasy bits. any ideas much appreciated. cheers guys. |

| just get some big name decent pads from your local specialist, they will be able to point you in the right direction. probably a lot cheaper than the dealer too

| Greenstuff or redstuff.

| If you are doing the rear brakes you will have to use a caliper windback tool or you will break the handbreak mechanism |

| I'll echo TaviaRS's suggestion - EBC Redstuff or Greenstuff. Greenstuff aren't much more expensive than OEM pads, and should be OK for road use (rumour has it that they melt or catch fire on trackdays ) Greenstuff rears are around £30 a set.Redstuff C should be OK for trackdays, but EBC don't seem to do them for the rear of a standard Octy. I've compromised, and have Redstuff C front, & Greenstuff rear. No problems yet, but then I do drive like a Granny ![]() Redstuff C fronts will cost around £60 a set.
