| Just been pricing up brake pads for the Octy in Halfrauds (yeah I know but someone got me vouchers for chrimbo and can't even give the b*ggers away).. Front pads for the 1.9Tdi are £24.99 WITH Wear indicator and £29.99 WITHOUT wear indicator...? No idea why they are more expensive without the wiring than with...Another example of rip off Britain?

| What level of trim do you need to have wear indicator support on the car? I have an elegance (2001)... |

| They manufacture more with th eindicator than without - hence the price difference. The Elegance has a wear indicator on the nearside front pad. However, my offside front, inner pad was metal-metal with the disc by the time the indicator light came on. I got non genuine pads too, and the connector is wrong - I cut it off and disabled the indicator with VAG-COM ![]() |

| Buy the cheap ones and cut it off if you don't need it.

| I ended up getting the cheap ones WITH the wiring..I'd have thought that it would have been cheaper and easier for the manufacturer to make one 'part' number only and just write on the instruction leaflet "cut off the wires if you don't have wear indication" ? anyway, at least it worked out in my favour getting the cheap (?) ones.....
