Breadcrumbed bonnet

Some real kn0bs about, I awoke the other morning to find that my car bonnet had been covered in breadcrumbs by someone, actually completely covering the bonnet, I presume in the hope that birds would land and peck/**** on the bonnet, no damage thankfully, also recently went out to my car to find a lit cigarette end lying on top of the car, as though it had been set there specifically to burn the paintwork, no damage there either, just a minimal smear of stinking tar/nicotine on the roof. Someone definitely has it in for my car at the moment. Obviously a criminal mastermind judging by the lengths they are going to, must set up a web- cam inside the car or something, see if I can catch them at it. I have a notion that it could be neighbours from upstairs in our apartments, they are a right bunch of no-hopers (no jobs, on dole/benefits/whatever else they can scrounge) so the sight of my nice car outside must be too much for them to take.

You can get motion detection software for webcams - you could put a laptop in the bot and hide the camunder a sweater or something

May be worth giving the car a good polish and a coat of AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection (or similar) to minimise the risk of paint damage in future.

Re: Breadcrumbed bonnet

glad that there hasnt been any damage but i'd agree that you need to get some sort of polish on the car to protect the paint in case this master mind decides to try something else.

Is the car in view of the apartment window? Woudl be better place for the cam to see people around the car... You can also go to the police with the recording they'll investigate.

Re: Breadcrumbed bonnet

Camera in flat window would be a good idea, would love to catch the b*ggers at it, would also love to do the car with autoglym etc. but don't have the time/patience, plus the weather where I am is too unpredictable and I don't have anywhere sheltered where I could do it either...

Re: Breadcrumbed bonnet

can you get one of them spot lights outside teh house that goes off when someone approaches the car? Might just be the deterrant.

Obviously wont work if you park in the street.

Re: Breadcrumbed bonnet

We have a spotlight permanently turned on, facing the car parking area, but it doesn't seem to put them off, maybe if the light was off all night it might be more of a deterrent as then they wouldn't be able to see the cars sitting in the car park in the first place. I'm planning a bit of sniping later, would love to sit out on the doorstep tonight with camo jacket on and air rifle in hand, waiting...
