Calling all Techies

Hi folks,
My octi rs is due for it's 20k service next week. The thing is, my dealer reckons it will just need a filter and oil change, and thats it. He has only sold 2 RS's and would not be familiar with the detailed servicing that is required. In saying all that, I could not fault him in any other way. I need your help as regards what it is exactly the car should be getting done. I have heard that our brake fluid has to be changed, but the dealer has never heard of that . I don't mind spending the cash, all I want is that everything that should be done, will be done. I would really appreciate your help on this one as she is booked in for the service next Thursday.BTW she is on variable servicing, but he insists on doing it every 10k

Regards,
Paul

If you are on fixed servicing which it sounds like it is then a 20k consists of....

Oil
Oil Filter
Pollen Filter
Inspection

If you are taking it to a Skoda dealer then they must have current and upto date service sheets and inspection manuals. Not knowing what is done at a particular service is a lousy excuse. vRS servicing is no different to a normal Octavia. The only Octavia that is different is the 4x4 where it has the Haldex coupling to service.

Brake fluid is every two years regardless of milegae.

Your service book defines what should be done, try reading that - your dealer should know that without being told!

Sounds like you need to find yourself another dealer. There's only one reason why he'd want to service it every 10K...

Colin, we need a cash register smilie ;-)

Fully stickered and ready to play, Saxo boy. Go ahead. Make my day. Within the posted limit, of course.

Generally you actually make more money servicing variable cars than 10k's. Its just you have to wait longer for it..lol.
