Re: cam belt

the bits from skoda are about £230+labour or can be had cheaper if you find a decent parts place.

i have just bought the stuff to do mine and it cost £129 but thats mates rates

i got a firtline water pump as these are supposed to be better than the originals, the original pump has a plastic impellor where as the firstline unit is all metal

Re: cam belt

The ETKA prices I have from a while back are:

Toothed belt - £23.50
Belt tensioning damper - £74.61
Tensioning roller - £44.89 (but not sure if this gets changed as well)
Water pump - £55.46

= almost £200

In a cambelt kit you get a cambelt, a tensioner and a ickle wheel (£71). I also paid 37 squid for a water pump. All fitted this weekend.

Re: cam belt

Does the tensioner and water pump need doing at the same time on the TDI engines also? I ask this as am well on my way to 60k miles which i believe is when you need to change the cam belt on the Tdi.

Mine is a 2003 model 110Tdi
