| Re: cambelt and waterpump.? I think it's fairly well recommended on here to get them done together as it's a known weak point, having plastic blades which are prone to breaking up - can be replaced with an aftermarket metal unit fairly cheaply. I'll certainly be insisting on a change when my cambelt is due.

| Re: cambelt and waterpump.? Just an FYI chaps, Id pay no more than £250 from an Independant for this work, also mine was done at Alex Lawrie Skoda all in for £280 so it may be best to call around dealers as you could save a good few quid for beer tokens.

| Re: cambelt and waterpump.? i would recommend not getting a standard water pump as they have a plastic impellor which is a bit pants and can either break or simply come away fromt eh brass shaft. for less than the price of a standard pump i got a first line pump which is all metal ![]() why they don't fit all metla pumps as standard i don't know ![]()

| Re: cambelt and waterpump.? I was talking to my local VAG Perfomance Tuning guy and he suggested that it was often the failure of the original plastic waterpump that can cause the failure of the cambelt. |
