Climate control/temp readout problem

Whenever i turn the ignition on the climate control panel lights up everything and diagnostic shows on the top.....for about 6 seconds. It then changes and works as normal

BUT

The temp is always showing -8 and it also shows that on the OBC... -8

Re: Climate control/temp readout problem

If it's on both it might be a fault with the temp sensor.

Tiff,

I believe it is under the scuttle panel on the drivers side of the car.

Re: Climate control/temp readout problem

It's behind the N/S bumper grille on aq vRS. Pull the grille out and you'll see it screwed to the bumper. I can't see why the sensor would cause the display to not light or go into diagnostic mode, though. Any chance of getting VAG-COM plugged in to see what it says?

Really? My Auto data again suggested other wise, unless its on about a different temperature sensor?

Not sure what might be under the scuttle, I've had mine off and didn't see a temperature sensor. The external air temperature sensor is behind the N/S grille... I had mine off the other week.

Re: Climate control/temp readout problem

The exterior temperature sensor is behind the nearside front bumper grill as already mentioned.

The issue may also be an internal sensor problem, there are several at different points in the front of the cabin.
