Custom code remap. Whats your figures?

Hi there I've had the car remapped (phase 2)at JBS, good bunch of lads & very helpful. The thing is I don't Know what the power is. So today I went to local rolling road and the figures are 286.2 lb-ft, 1.65 bar boost, 225.9 bhp.
The car has larger t,i,p , induction kit, 3inch down pipe into 200cel cat then jetex, forge 007 and thermo inlet manifold gasket. To be honest I thought it would be more bhp for 1.6 on the boost, so sulking a bit. Just wanted to know what other peoples cars where making on a custom code phase 2 map.

Re: Custom code remap. Whats your figures?

seems right for the mods undertaken tbh. I'd be a little worried about the boost pressure as 1.6 bar seems very high but then it seems like all custom code maps are that way and there doesnt appear to be any issues with them so id be pretty happy tbh.

Re: Custom code remap. Whats your figures?

I would rather have more torque than the bhp

1.65 bar boost is massive for a stock turbo

Re: Custom code remap. Whats your figures?

I have no scanner to get the graphs on. When I told jbs what was on the car they said around 230-240 but when I rang up yesterday annoyed as hell there was a lot of back tracking. To be honest I'm not sure to call it a day or go all out with a big turbo, 6 speed box and other bits.
With that much boost I was thinking it would get more bhp, but hey ho!

Do the big turbo, you know it makes sense.

You will have the ideal opportunely soon when your turbo goes bang.

More boost does not = more BHP!

Correct, what it does equal is a new turbo very soon. Once the turbo safe limits are reached (which you have gone way past) then there are no real gains to be made apart from financialy to the workshop thats going to replace the turbo, its possible to get the same bhp with a lot less boost and adjusting other parameters.

Re: Custom code remap. Whats your figures?

thats 24psi which is pretty high on a K03s but a lot of maps take it to 20psi.

for record boost pressure doesn't mean anything really its the air flow of the turbo that counts as (for example) 20psi on a K03s will be half the power of 20psi on a gt35

also high torque figures doesn't mean you must have high power figures, 200lbft could get you 50bhp but it could also get you 1000bhp it all depends where its made and whats more important is how long its made no good having a car thats really peaky torque wise you need a good spread

285lbft is either wrong or as Des has suggested your turbo's gonna last about 30 seconds longer.

Re: Custom code remap. Whats your figures?

I thought my boost gauge was out but now I Know its not. Think I'll be having a word to jbs in the morning as I'm even more ticked off knowing my turbo will go bang soon. What would be a good turbo kit to go for with out going to insane. Was not really wanting to go over 300 as I think its a bit too much power for a front wheel drive car. Also didn't want to have to start changing internals. Will aim for next summer if k03 lasts that long then at least I can use motorbike to get about.

That's the spirit.

I would go for a equal length manifold and hybrid k04 set up if you want quick spool up and an everyday driver.. With a couple of other bits and pieces 280bhp should be possible, perhaps more.

Re: Custom code remap. Whats your figures?

turbo dynamics sell a hybrid K04 that they say is good for 300bhp but i don't know anyone thats ever used it, fits your current manifold and down pipe too, but a tubular one owuld be nice

what was JBS's responce when you spoke to them about the boost? as they will have a lot of car running similar boost levels around the country.

They dont half turn up the boost on the PD maps either, imho a bit too much (read: max out)

Re: Custom code remap. Whats your figures?

I had the Custom Code Phase1 remap earlier this year at JBS. I'm running Carbonio air intake, Forge TIP, Milltek 100 cel cat, blueflame exhaust. On their rollers It produced 238.3bhp at 6607rpm & the max torque figure was 223.3.

Re: Custom code remap. Whats your figures?

They have not said much. To be honest I'm starting to think they have just put phase 1 on it. They asked for the graph so got in touch with my mate and what I didn't know was he had a scanner so here is the graph.[/IMG]
