Dodgy headlight relay

A clicking sound started under the dashboard the other night when I put my headlights on, and has continued ever since whenever the headlights are on. I have traced it to what I believe is the headlight relay, which is situated above the kick panel above the pedals.
It is an 11-pin relay made by SIEMENS and has the number 377 stamped on the top, and the part number 4BO 955 531 A on it. I have tried to get one locally but can't, so phoned the dealers in Leeds, who don't list that part number , and are going to get back to me after speaking to Skoda's technical dept.

Can anyone suggest where to get one and how much they might be ??

Re: Dodgy headlight relay

D M KEITH (SKODA) just phoned me back, and the part number has changed , (apparently the relay also controls the wash/wipe functions too), and they can get me one for tomorrow at exactly the same price as the VW dealer .

Think not .

Anyone got one ??

Re: Dodgy headlight relay

That's cheap compared to glow plug timing relay for a Daihatsu Foutrak at £440.

That part number you quoted, if it is quite a large relay, it will be a wiper control unit and the only connection it will have with your head lights will be if you have headlamp washers.

Re: Dodgy headlight relay

I believe it does control the wipers too along with the brake lights, however it initially only started clicking when I put the headlights on, but then did it a few times on Sunday when I pressed the brake pedal (without the headlights on). I have had the wipers on this morning, but there is no clicking, and I don't have headlamp wash/wipe.

Any luck with the clicking? My octy 1,9 tdi does it when lights on at night until car is warmed up then it stops.. Also when it does click the headlights go brighter than normal (flickering).....This also stops once car is warm...

Re: Dodgy headlight relay

Nope...just checked it again now, and mine only does it with the headlights on, but they don't go any brighter....looks like I am going to have to fork out £26 .

Re: Dodgy headlight relay

Are you both sure it isn't a seized headlight adjuster, they click when the headlights are put on if they are seized.
Clicking will be heard at the back of the headlight.
