| Briskodian | Engine Management Light - Help! My engine management light has today decided to come on. The car itself seems to be driving Okay. The car itself is a 51 plate so is no longer covered by manufacturers warranty. However, I did purchase an extended warranty from the dealer which covers mechanical breakdown. I spoke to the warranty company who were as usual very unhelpful. They say I need to get the car checked out before they will commit to any repairs / costs incurred. I have provisionally booked the car in for Monday 25th as this is earliest I can get a courtesy car from Skoda main dealer. At Ł42.00 + VAT for a diagnostic I am not too happy. My warranty company will only pick up the costs if it is a broken part. Could have taken to one of their nominated repair places but no courtesy car and they want it for a full day! Does anyone have any ideas? I have looked at the forums and the temperature sensor comes in for a bit of stick. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Darren |

| Can the brake light switch fault cause this? When mine went on my Polo it brought up the glow plug light.

| Briskodian | Hi yes it can. Check to see if the brake lights come on. That is one way to test it. Good luck mate. |
