| Engine Problem help My 51 plate octavia elegance 2.0 has developed a problem, i like many others used to suffer from the car "spluttering" when its cold but yesterday on the way to work it was really bad, then all of the sudden the engine management light appeared. Since then the light flashed everytime i accelerate and i seem to have lost nearly all power and the car feels very ropey, i could also smell some sort of burning smell when i got out. Does anyone know what this could be? im thinking maybe the clutch but the car has only done 32k and has been very well looked after. Any help appriciated Cheers Damian |

| Re: Engine Problem help sounds like a misfire , the EML flashing means the emissions are really bad and you shouldn't drive the car , i suspect the burning smell could be the catalyst caused by unburnt fuel
