First Mod ?

Hi,

picking up my first Octavia VRS on saturday, can't wait

after reading the excellant posts in this forum.

Just like your opinion on the first if any mods you would recommend??

K&N Panel filter was the first thing I did.

Looking at a rear anti roll bar next and when funds permit a remap.

Plenty of threads on the site about the various mods you can do.

Look out for FMIC - front mounted intercooler - this is popular though expensive
Changing shocks/dampers
Bigger turbos

This list is quite extensive.

Sweet. What year/ colour did you get. I am awaiting my private reg transfer till I pick mine up.

what motor did you come from before the vRS?

I found two Vrs Octavia's 2003 a silver one and a red one. The silver one was in better nick but was a import so went for a Red one. 21000 miles on clock £9500 price tag. Had a MG ZS b4 that. Saturday cannot come quick enough !!

I'd wait and see how you get on with it first and then decide where you want to go with it.

Biggest bang for your buck is the remap but before this you might want to get a CAI/freer flow filter, sports dp and cat + cat back and then, perhaps, a FMIC....the remap can then take these all in consideration and the hit will be bigger.

Or if you want even more power wait, save your pennies, then go for a bigger turbo..300+bhp and even more smilies per miles.

i guess at the end of the day it all depends on how much your on about spending, i too held off on the re-map until a few other mods were done - then went the CC phase II route

(couldnt wait any longer)

kewel. I just bought a Black magic 2003 with 21k on the clock.

Just found a Revo remap dealer 45miles from the house. Canny wait.

First mod for me?... speakers.

think the first thing i changed was the head unit and the speakers... then the recirc valve, then the panel filter, then changed that for a Jabba induction kit. then changed the boost hoses for a samco kit and will be changing the TIP for a forge one this weekend. have a "pikey" arch vent to go on as well.
future mods are going to be a turbo back exhaust then a remap, that should see a nice and healthy 230bhp or there abouts so i'll be happy with that.

You wouldnt be wanting an SPS1 unit by any chance would you, before i flog it off on ebay - never used by myself, as i ended up going a different route with the re-map.

Hi There,

Just brought a vrs on a 02 plate,took a trip down to awesome for a stage 1 re-map,it has made a huge difference giving me approx 210 bhp with 245ibs of torque,would highly recommed speek to a guy called andy on 0161 7760777,my next venture is a k&n filter then a circulating valve,maybe a exhaust next who knows,cheers for now jason.

However this is just my humble opinion and everybody is different in what they want.
