| FMIC Octy,Front bumper Modification Have the Jabbasport FMIC and am looking to modifiy my front bumper and the front bumper mount(the black metal bar that runs accross front of car). how do you modifiy the bumper mount,do you just cut the center section out so the intercooler is bolted on either side? i know the bumper is just a case of cutting the section out am more worried about the metal and how i should go about modifying it. any pictures and help much appreciated.

| Dunno how often I've put this piccie up!? The FMIC on mine bolted to the support on the inside, so chopping it up to expose more airflow to the IC wasn't a problem. Angle grinder and smoothed off a little, then painted with hammerite. ![]() Bumper mod piccies will follow. Not got it back from bodyshop, but my first butchery turned out like this

| I think in terms of IC performance, getting maximum airflow to it is he best thing you can do. ![]() Might be worth scanning DaveU posts and/or his Gallery as I'm sure he's done some nice bumper work too, to expose the IC to the airflow.

| Here's a look before the FMIC without the bumper shell in place, plus see here for the finished article (still minus bumper shell) Lee http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showt...2&page=3&pp=10

| Yep thats it,except i have the jabbasport intercooler so won't have to cut the metal bar completely accross. i'm guessing its just a case of cutting the required part of the metal strip out to expose the core. thats a job for my days off next week then. where's the best place to get some mesh type stuff for the bigger hole? would like something similar to the bonnet grille, anyone got any ideas?

Umm, that's exactly what it looks like, bumper cut completely away. Both my mate and DaveU have the the Jabbasport IC and have cut the bumper away....and it saves on weight. ![]()
