My front wipers were acting up the other week by not working on - down one wipe, intermittant, and slow speed, after stripping down the linkage and greasing the arms etc it turned out to be the wiper relay (large black one bottom right) above the pedals, if you take it out and prise open the plastic case you see 2 relays inside, I cleaned the contacts on both relays with some strips of "Electrolube cleaning strips" and the wipers are now working perfectly and saved myself about £30 on a new relay.

and certainly easier than getting to the linkage - I have still failed to get my scuttle cover off! Mind you the autoglass man will have to do it when they change the screen (crack is now about 18 inches long!)
