Fuel issue (on behalf of Mcgyver)

To cut a long story short, Mcgyver was filling his car with petrol and due to work that went on in the petrol station earlier than day his car got filled up with a mixture of Petrol, Water, and Grit. (Thinking the car was full of petrol)The car wouldn't start so the garage owner got his car towed to the garage today. The garage were going to change the fuel filter, Mcgyver insisted on the fuel pump and Spark plugs also be changed. He's not too sure now wheather the Injectors would also need to be replaced. The garage also said they'd take out the fuel tank and flush the system.

Any thought on the above or anything else to watch out for.

Bit of bad luck hey ! Hate to be the company that did the work (18,000 litres of petrol destroyed and 3 cars in need of attention)

Is the work being carried out by a Skoda dealer or another garage?

Repairs are being carried out at local Skoda dealers.

AFIK the petrol station in question have agreed to cover costs verbally at least. They are not certain that the grit came from the petrol delivery that day, or if the underground pipes were damaged during the renovation works. I was talking to McGyver yesterday. Poor guy was driving Linda's Clio at the time..... not a happy camper

I was lucky. I filled my car the same day, but thankfully at a different station.

As pdhealy says, the work is being done by a Skoda dealership. He just wanted to see what people here thought about the measures being taken to fix it and what possible future issues could be caused due to the contamination i.e. should he be looking to get other parts replaced so not to have potential future issues with it.
