According to my fuel computer I'm going to get 450 miles from a tank this week. Last week I was lucky to see 300 miles!

well the reason i ask is ... it costs me the same to fill the octy as my punto did... and thats when the petrol was cheaper as well.. so in theory theres less going in the octy as the punto...i was expecting the octy to take about £40-50 worth of fuel... not £30-35

by the way if you are getting over 400 miles from a 1.8T are you driving like the proverbial kitten?

yes! I'm just seeing how many miles I can get out of a tank.

Joel, It sounds like you used to let the punto get really empty before filling the tank up but leaving the Octy on a 1/4 of a tank before filling up.

When mine gets on the red it will take 50 litres, around £42 of optimax.

I used to get 400 miles or thereabouts quite regularly at sensible motorway speeds, but this was more when the car was run in. 'Sensible' meant in the indicated 70-80mph region.

I dunno whether it's too small. As long as I get around 300 miles to each tank then I'm happy.

55? even when I drive to the point where the trip computer has said I should have run out of petrol it never takes more than 43-44 litres to fill, so I assumed it was a 45 litre tank.

I once had a journey when the last few miles before the filling station were torture as I was so low on petrol.

Previously, running low I could normally get 47 - 51 litres in the tank. On this occasion, I got 56 litres in!!

Must've been running on fumes...
