Haldex info

My car needs the haldex oil and filter changing as has just done 40k, so have been looking into how hard it is... Having had it up on the ramp to have a look seems it may be a barsteward of a job so will be going to skoda to have it done

But came across this file that has a lot of info on it, thought might be of use to someone...

Re: Haldex info

Henry,

can't advise on how easy to change oil and filter, I'd point out though that the reference to 'permanent four wheel drive' in the PDF file really means permanently available four wheel drive that is hardly ever turned on. If you fancy improving the feel of the car enormously by giving the rear wheels more work to do on the move, strongly recommend you ditch the standard Haldex controller and have the performance version fitted instead. AMD Technik outside Oxford supply and install.

Adam.

Re: Haldex info

The oil filter requires a special wrench to get in there to change it.

Re: Haldex info

Yep, it needs a specialist tool mate but its available to buy online - think for about £60-£70 - maybe work need to get hold of one for any skoda 4x4's that come in

Job takes about 20 mins tops and should cost about £50 with parts. I had my filter done with the oil at 20k just to make sure and I'll have the same done when it goes to Jabba at 32k for a 40k service.

Drop me a PM when you get a mo - let me know how the car is going.

Lee
