Handling differences between hatch and estate?

is there a big difference between the hatch and the estate? as i noticed the hatch has the braces in the boot which the estate doesn't.

No real difference. Because the estate does not have the brace in the back, it was supplied new on 16" alloys only, compared the hatchbacks 17" wheels.

ahh didn't realize this! my brother said when i saw a car at the weekend the wheels seemed a bit small!

So if you upgrade the wheels on the estate you should get a rear ARB? Does this apply to MKII as well?
