| help - car won't start car's been parked up for five days. just got 2 toddlers and a baby all strapped in, and it won't start. It's turning over but not firing. It's a warm day and I turned it over plenty of times so it can't be that it's cold (more likely by now that it's flooded but that wouldn't explain why it wouldn't start in the first place). Had the cambelt changed the other day (thanks for members that gave me advice on that - I phoned round and got quotes from £160 to £340!) and everything was working fine when I parked it up. It was serviced the other week so spark plugs should be fine. It's got plenty of petrol though I can't vouch that it's getting to the cylinders - in fact, it's as if there's no fuel or if there is it's not sparking. There's no smell of petrol though. The starter motor's been making a bit of a grindy noise for the last year or so. Any ideas? I'd best go and get the kids out the car.......... |
