| Re: Help help floor very wet!! Help help not sure if its a similar problem on the Octy, but VW Passats have a known problem with the drain holes under the wiper motor area (scuttle?) getting blocked and water coming over the bulkhead. the fix seems to be to remove the rubber gromet around the drain holes to make them bigger so they dont block so easily. |

| Re: Help help floor very wet!! Help help Problems are likely to be: - grommet near to where the pollen filter is fitted under the scuttle panel - door embrames being damaged/cut - door seats The carpet in the back of the car is thinner than the front, and has less sound deadening material, plus I believe the floor pan slopes slightly towards the rear The vrs does not have a sunroof does it? If it does, it might be worth checking the drainage points - A and C pillars (iirc). I just open my sunroof and tip some water from a bottle into the runner tracks and it appears in 4 places on the ground. The grommet issue by the pollen filter can be caused by the drains down to the wheel arches becoming full of leaves and not allowing the water to drain away - so worth checking they are clear too. |

| Re: Help help floor very wet!! Help help If the water is in the front footwells and it hasn't been raining it is likely that: *Heater matrix is knackered and is condensing in your car? get sorted quick or it will corrode everything and rot the carpets and you will never get rid of the stink. *you have had a new windscreen fitted and is not sealed? *or you have James Bond syndrome ![]() It could also be what the other guys say, that there are holes in your car somewhere and get the magnified glass out and see where it's letting in water Good Luck Bond

| Re: Help help floor very wet!! Help help Do your heaters blow in definite different temperatures? if it doesn't and your carpets wet and the cars been out of the rain, and your not a James Bond wannabe - it the heater matrix

| Re: Help help floor very wet!! Help help Do you mean when i change the temperature, or by them selves. They are different when I change them, but stay the same when left. Can i access the matrix from the engine bay, or do I need to remove the dash. Would a dodgy matrix steam the windscreen up as well. |

| Re: Help help floor very wet!! Help help drivers side could be the wiring loom, or bonnet release cables.... again I would suggest ensuring the drainage ducts under the scuttle panel are clear. |

| Re: Help help floor very wet!! Help help right guys thanks for all the info so far. I had a quick looky today, no real build up however. You may notice my car has 2 spots in the lower grill, the wire for these runs next to the bonnet release cable. This had a gromit around it but was loose. I have made right but find it hard to beleive this little hole has caused all the water in my car! ![]()

| Re: Help help floor very wet!! Help help thats exacty where water came in on my car.......well one of the places anyway !It was the same on mine the gromit had come away and water was leaking in. Only good thing i guess is rain water is clean....unlike heater matrix coolant mix which is nasty stuff and as said before gets in everything and ruins it....my mk2 golf has no dash fitted now and ruined carpet/sounddeadening as a result. If water is in the passenger side its worth checking the pollen filter seal in the scuttle area as they leak too. |

Then some theiving toe-rag stole my snooper, and I sealed the hole up, and the car remained dry after that.

. Tw*ts. I was a bit wirried leaving mine in, coz its hard wired. Any how I had a quick look this morning and I'm 90% sure it's through the hole for the Snooper wires. Its only been in a few weeks and this is the 1st heavy rain spell since. Its defenitly not the Matrix. I'l have a look later and post my findings. Cheers guys

| Re: Help help floor very wet!! Help help smashed a window too, so that made the car a bit wetter! They left the gps bit behind, and f**ked my carkit at the same time. ![]() Just stick some extra silicon sealant over the gromet area and see how you get on. I used to have my radar detector mounted in air intake hole on the drivers side in the bumper. Worked quite well till I drove through a flood ![]() Normally I parked in my garage overnight (so was not worried about hard-wiring it in), but I was in the process of doing some work on the garage, so the car had been left on the driveway for a few day. |
