HELP - Oil sign coming up on display

Right here we go!!! Went for a spirited drive tonight. Got to ASDA did the shopping so and hour or so. Started the car up and a YELLOW engine Oil sign flashed up a couple of times then went away. I turned engine off the started car up again...same sign flashed up!!! What the hell is going on.

By the way to top it all off the Climate control is not working at all!!! Totally off no lights nothing...anyone know about fuses etc...I can't find my manual. Please help I need to travel to Birmingham this weekend to see my dad and the windscreen is constantly steamed up!

I have also explained this in the 'Ask a Tech' section.

Aaquil.

Could be false error warnings due to a blow fuse but -

Have you checked your oil?

I'm going to check I only had it changed on Saturday!!! I parked it on a level bit of road this morning I'll check when I go to work. I hope its nothing serious...

Why does the sign flash yellow then go off...the engine oil light at start up is RED?!!!

Thanks for the reply.

Yellow is a level warning - advisory

Red is a pressure warning - danger

If youve just had it changed did you do it yourself or a garage ?
If a garage then take it back to them

Had it done at a non Dealership mechanic. Called SKODA and the lady that answered it stated that it is just letting me know that I need an oil change and just needs to be reset.

What do you guys think does that make sense?

Oil levels are fine.

If you have enough oil in it then id say its fine and a problem with the level sensor or the dash insert.

Could also be a problem with the switch in the bonnet catch as this is what resets the light.

This is an additional problem...

Central locking and I presume the Immobiliser is not being activated. I have tried both key fobs and both are not working.

Any ideas? If it could be the fuse please let me know which one so I can look at it...I HAVE LOST MY MANUAL!!!

Thanks Aaquil

The immobilizer will allways be activated its a chip on the key.

If you remotes arent working does the little red light flash when you press the button?

It gets worse I went to Birmingham today...radio and cassette packed in (came on but no sound). Windows, sunroof and internal lights not working. Buzzing noise when headlights turned on.

Called AA out fuse had gone so central locking, windows, sunroof and internal lights okay. No sound from sound system and advised not to use until it goes to dealership.

Climate control not working at all...it all added up to make very steamed up windows I got lost as roadworks on my normal route to dads house nearly hit a car...could not see him!!!

I think the radio plus headlights is related to me connecting my TomTom Go to the cigarette lighter socket.

By the way some major cities have more than one road with the same name and yep you guessed it my dads road was not the one on the TOMTOM!!!

Its going to dealership on Tuesday with a long list of things to fix.

I love the car but HATE the problems

I little bit of an unlucky run there thats all.

For the yellow light I would think its the oil level sensor in the sump thats at fault. But if it still plays up its worth mentioning a bonnet catch switch to them. Had one of them play up on me and took me a while to suss it out.

I have just read this, & the word DUMP VALVE sparked a curiosity, checked the car that Aaquil has on his Profile ....... its a Scooby Legacy.
I hope either he has changed to a Skoda and the car in the profile is wrong , or the advice he is getting IS correct.
