| Briskodian | Help!!! Just wondering if anyone has any ideas to put me out of my misery. I have an octy VRS and am more than happy with it just over three weeks ago i went away for 3 weeks and left it sitting on the drive and i have to say its the best car i have ever had so does anyone have any bright ideas? on how i can have a nice new very annoying rattle from just sitting on the drive? the only cure i have found so far is to turn the CD up to cover it up!![]() |

| Briskodian | Re: Help!!! Thanks for the replys, is this something i can do or is it a dealer job? haynes manual in post (at last!) and pretty good at mechanics, if so do i change the lot and be done with it or how do i know which one is at fault. its coming from front offside and i can find nothing that rattles moves or is loose when i get under the car |

| Briskodian | Re: Help!!! Have found the problem!! About the only thing i hadnt thought to check and someone suggested to me "just incase some rust or something had got in there" was to check the "cup" that the spring sits in on front suspension.well i did this and found more than a bit of rust its a section of the spring that has clearly snapped off probably if you straightened it out about 1 to 2 inches long. no loud bangs or any warning at all to suggest that it had happened when i pulled it off the drive after its few weeks lay up. and felt only mildy spoungy on that side if at all. so now booked in to get it sorted ASAP. thanks for the help again guys and keep uo the good work on the sight |
