Help!!!

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas to put me out of my misery.

I have an octy VRS and am more than happy with it just over three weeks ago i went away for 3 weeks and left it sitting on the drive and i have to say its the best car i have ever had . having come back i have a very annoying rattle thats developed aparantly while sitting on the drive for 3 weeks, initially i thought it maybe just something like the pads "chinking" on the disc's if they have not been in use and a bit of rust in the way. and it would go away but around 200 miles down the road and its still doing it. the noise is a definate metal on metal "chink" going over bumps etc. i have been under the car tried to wobble and rattle everything, had the wheels off done the same and bounced up and down on the car and cant find anything wrong at all! so does anyone have any bright ideas? on how i can have a nice new very annoying rattle from just sitting on the drive? the only cure i have found so far is to turn the CD up to cover it up!

Re: Help!!!

Could be an anti roll bar link rod. I think they are quite common for rattling/knocking.

Re: Help!!!

Have found the problem!!
About the only thing i hadnt thought to check and someone suggested to me "just incase some rust or something had got in there" was to check the "cup" that the spring sits in on front suspension.well i did this and found more than a bit of rust its a section of the spring that has clearly snapped off probably if you straightened it out about 1 to 2 inches long. no loud bangs or any warning at all to suggest that it had happened when i pulled it off the drive after its few weeks lay up. and felt only mildy spoungy on that side if at all.
so now booked in to get it sorted ASAP.
thanks for the help again guys and keep uo the good work on the sight

Re: Help!!!

Seem to be rather a lot of these springs breaking at the moment - common problem?
