Ahoy there fellow skodite!

i'm afraid it's not that easy! there are so many different companies, so many different types of remap, at differing prices, you could never just name one as the best. Also some maps suit some cars, while they don't work so good on others.

I'd avoid Jabba or any cheap and dodgy ones personally. Just do a quick search in the forum, and there are thousands of posts about remaps. Go with one of the big names if you can afford to.

Bodge, I notice you replied in my remap thread too but the answer to my question might be useful for adam too.

Why would you avoid Jabba? I thought they were one of the big players in VAG tuning?

Re: Hi im new here so HI EVERYONE and some advise please !!!

I've just heard bad things about their customer care really, and a lack of after sales support.

There are a few guys on here that had Jabba maps, which caused running problems, but Jabba wern't interested in sorting it for them. So they had to go and get another map from elsewhere to cure the problems.

That's just my opinion based on what I've heard, and I don't have a remap so can't comment first hand. If you search the forum and read through some threads I'm sure you'll pick something up.

I think there was a thread about the 17705 fault code that digressed into blaming Jabba maps somewhere!

Re: Hi im new here so HI EVERYONE and some advise please !!!

Hi Adam,

Mine isn't remapped yet but I plan to get one next year from Impossible Performance mainly because I've yet to hear a bad thing about them (and not just from the Skoda lot, I know a few Seat and VW owners that have used them), and it's nice and local so if anything does go wrong I can go bang on their door

I noticed you are coming to their rolling road day at the end of this month so it might be worth going out in one of the cars that has already been remapped? I believe Gerry (Beretta) has an Impossible remap, there will probably be a few more there and maybe even some getting remapped on the day so you can have a before and after passenger ride

FTW = For the win IMO = In my opinion

Love the lazy gits using acronyms

I also keep um and arring.. car is running great standard (182bhp as per vag com) and have had no issues with it in 3 years.

The added strain on the car, clutch, turbo etc is it worth it? Want another 3 years plain sailing.

Its a common fact that it does not matter what way things are spelt aslong as the first and last letters are in the right place.

Hope this helps.

Couldn't agree more Stuart!!!

I speak as I find!.......best policy TBH

They have always been first class for me, they might take a while to get back to people (a day or two), but that is because they are very busy people....i.e. popular and extremely good at what they do!

Re: Hi im new here so HI EVERYONE and some advise please !!!

Yea, My experience with Jabba is mixed, I got my springs from their and also a service as I was their, both Excellent fast and efficient, However My friend had a map and the claimed figures from the RR where so wrong it was un true and that verified by 3 other RR and none even got near it, what can you say? apart from I got my map at Impossible, I asked Mike what I can expect and he said 200-220 Max, I have been to two RR and had results of 206 and 214, however My torque is well above most maps I have seen.

Dont Listen to everything you hear go and see them they are a big place maybe thats the issue, I like Impossible as you can stand their right in Mike's way with your head under the bonnet why he does the work.
