hiccups

Hi Guys, my 1.8T has a problem that occurs in 2 different ways.

When I start the engine when its cold, it idles at 1250 (normal) but whereas it used to drop and hold at 1000 and hold, it now drops to 500. The ecu blips the throttle to prevent it from stalling but sometimes it does. When I restart it idles, it sometimes drops to 500 again and I have no power but it quickly returns to normal and I can drive off. If I cruise for the rest of the day it drives normally
Accelerating hard through the gears, the car feels normal. However when I come to standstill and try to move again, the revs drop to 500 and I have no power. Its like its having hiccups. this goes on for a couple of hours before it sorts itself out.

I have changed the top breather hose. Is there anything else I can check and maybe change before I book it in to skoda?

This looks like an issue with the idle stabilisation control to me.
