How do I tell if I have platinum plugs?

I have been quoted £200 +vat for a Full service on my VRS by a local garage I have used for my previous cars (£330 from a Skoda Dealer). However the lady said that if it has platinum plugs, then the price will go up by £9+vat per plug.

How would I know if they are platinum by looking at the top of the plugs?

Also been quoted £107 +vat to replace the anti roll bars bushes.

Thanks

I can only say whip the plugs out and have a look, they should have a name or number (bosch etc) then have a google to which one they are.

As for the ARB price, does that include a new bar??? If so thats a good price .
If it doesn't then tell them not to bother a go and get the bushes for about £6 from a dealer and fit them your self in about 30 mins.

I think they're probably labelled "platinum". Not that it actually matters, unless you specifically want replacement platinum plugs (and it makes bugler all difference anyway; it's only the electrodes that are platinum which reduces tip erosion. Not like the big move from iron to copper cores in the mid 1980s, when the plug's resistance to external heating was improved).

Just the bushes.

I replaced Anti roll bar bushes on my Xr2 back in the 90's and they were a right pig to do, are these any easier?

Jack the car, place on axle stands, undo dropinks, undo bush mounts, change bushes, refit everything.

I did it about two weeks ago, if I can do it so can you

Yea grab hold of the ARB and see if you can move it. IIRC the correct plugs are 101 000 063AAs They are 9 or 10 quid each retail, or 6.40 trade club
