| Re: how to improve radio reception? you are supposed to fit a signal booster when changing the stereo as the original stereo has the booster built in unlike a lot of cars where its seperate.

| Re: how to improve radio reception? the main trouble with boosters is that all the booster does is amplify the signal... so if the signal is bad it also amplifies the bad bits too, it might be worth while trying to find some sort of booster with an active filter |

| Re: how to improve radio reception? It is not so much a signal booster you are meant to fit, but a power injector to provide power to the amplifier located in the base of the aerial. |

| Briskodian | Re: how to improve radio reception? I think you will find that the problem is not the radio head unit but the aerial itself. It does depend on the age of the car but mine is 2000 and seemingly the aerial unit from that period has a history of leaking and the RF amplifier giving up due to water ingress. Initially MW and LW go and then FM. I'm about to post yet another question on how to get at the aerial base in an estate so that it can be replaced - currently I have a wire hanging out the side of the radio giving me acceptable local reception.
