| re: How very odd? When you get the convenience controller reset, tell them how many keys you want coding. If you have two, then take both keys with you and check they both work. |

| Re: How very odd? out of curiosity, if your mate unlocks it, and you leave it untouched, does it automatically re-lock after a minute or two? In normal circumstances it should automatically relock if the doors aren't opened. If not then it's likely an indication that the convenience module has an issue..

| Re: How very odd? I used to have a Maestro and they were notorious. I once locked my keys in at a campsite. The guy in the tent next door had a Maestro, so I borrowed has keys and let myself in with them :-) |

| Re: How very odd? It should autolock with your mates key as well. It wont with the clifford alarm fob however, because the convienience ecu has not unlocked the car, the clifford alarm control box has. It was the same with my old sigma alarm that had a separate fob.

| Re: How very odd? however, if it is a Cat1 spec Clifford then it still should, as that is a thatcham Cat1 requirement.. but as said that is a seperate issue and purely down to the Clifford unit.

| Re: How very odd? lol yeah Clifford autolock will relock even after the doors have been open I've been there too.. I think from memory the immobiliser function will still re-arm even if the autolock is turned off.

| Re: How very odd? They are rolling code remotes. So every now and again they will roll to the same code. Its a fluke that no one could count on so its a very low risk. Plus the key still wont start the car. |

| Re: How very odd? The problem seems to occur when the number of enabled slots is greater than the number of remotes actually coded. IIRC the learning mode should only last for 15 seconds. Seen this once myself but never got a chance to VAG-COM the convenience controller to see if it had learnt the other remote. Resetting the CC, setting the number of remotes to 1 and learning that correct remote did fix the problem. So I don't think the remotes had the same code. |

| Re: How very odd? Just seen this after I posted. When this problem occured the wrong remote continued to open my mates car over a period of days. The correct remote would not open the wrong car (hope this makes sense). |

| Re: How very odd? the main pain is if i havent got my own keys on me, if the car is unlocked with the key the cliffod goes awol cos of the voltage drop or change, it lets evryone know its not happy you havent turnt the alram off ... lol least it alerts me that the car is unlocked ![]()

| Re: How very odd? hmm, been to skoda and they said no faults showed? which means the half hour the had it is going to pos put me out of pocket 45 quid ![]() they tried to say my mates car coudl be at fault? but being its happend b4 ...... surly with all the vw skoda audi n seats the chances of a mates key unlocking is beyond 100000s to 1 ? im sure its nothing to do with the clifford as this stays armed. all the characteristics that happens is tha same as if i open with the key myself when my mates unlocks it it then lock after , but the clifford does not relock surly it has to be my car being a git ? ![]() unless my mates going to get the bad luck of his going going out of syn with this car? grrrrrrrrrrrrr ![]()

| Re: How very odd? When I worked in a dealership many years ago I noticed purely by chance that a brand new 1995 Cavalier in our showroom had the same key number as the 1986 Cavalier SRi I owned at the time. Sure enough the new car's key would unlock and start my car, but because of the new one having a factory fitted immobiliser and mine not, my key would not start the new one, even though it did unlock it..... |
