How wide is a vRS alloy? (17")

Is it 7" or 7.5" as a friend thinks the rim should be 7.5" at least ideally to take the 225/45 tyres.

Cheers

Re: How wide is a vRS alloy? (17")

As far as I am aware they are 7x17". Most people put 215/40/17's on them but I'm using 205/40/17's. I'm pretty sure 225/45's will be a bit too wide for them?

Hello there fellow scouser

It seems a lot of the peeps use the 225s but it seems like the rim is slightly too narrow??

225/45/17's fit the standard Octy vRS wheels with no problem at all.

Just checking as Demon Tweeks think the wheels should be at least 7.5" wide at least.

If you join Freedom and use the calculator, you will see it is well within tolerances, and does also not upset the speedo reading.
I and many others on here have them fitted without a problem.

I am running 225/45/17s on my Octy with no problems at all, 225s are a damn sight cheaper than the 205s fitted as standard as well

Toyo T1-rs, bit noisier than the standard ones, but hard wearing and very grippy.
I also have them on my 18"s.

May I just suggest that 225 is at the upper limit for a 7" wide rim.
