| Increasing the BHP on a 110Tdi Octavia Any one out there purchased any BHP mod kits for the Octavia 110TDi's. Saw one on Ebay being sold by Car Power LTD, it's a smallish looking black box which is easy to install and safely increases BHP by 35 and 50Nm torque. It's apparently easy to install and can be de-activated when not needed. I checked with my dealer about upping the BHP and it's apparently not Skoda policy to offer such service to owners. My car is still under warranty but I am tempted after the warranty runs out but want to get an idea of it this si a BIG NO or OK to do. Anyone out there who's tried can you give me some idea of if it works or not. Thanks ![]() |

| Bakie, I have fitted an analogue tuning box to my Octy. Like others will no doubt tell you, it is a crude device, but it was only Ł50 from a german company on ebay. It increases the power by at least 20% (22bhp). Although you can adjust it via an internal screw for more power (but more power = more smoke) I also have a green panel filter approx Ł35 from a group buy. The panel filter is recomended to help the car breath when a tuning box is fitted. I have had no problems yet (10 months) and no change in average fuel economy. But the car is much more fun now and more responsive. The unit is easy to fit and easy to remove when bringing the car in for a service (mine is still under warranty) Also there are no errors logged on the computer which will tell the dealer that a box has been installed. Mine will now sit quite comfortably with a Seat Ibiza 130TDI (same as vRS furby) on dual carriageways (40-80+mph) I would recomend upgrading the suspension though, as i have found that it is very prone to body roll. I am looking into getting a set of eibach springs for Ł160 which will lower by about 30mm and firm up the ride on bends. JD

| To jump topic slightly, I wondered about a suspension change to make the ride a bit firmer, but I can't lower the car (as it some times catches on things when I drive down the lane to my horses). Any recommendations that won't reduce the ride height? Cheers, Matt |

| Briskodian | uprated anti-roll bars You'll often see people on here refer to them as ARB |

| Recommended uprated anti-roll bars? and associated cost? Car is a 2001 (Y) TDi 110 estate. I don't drive it overly hard, but certainly feel it handle less well than my older 306 HDi. Maybe a silly question, but do you tell the insurance comany - would they see it as a mod or not? Cheers, Matt |

| Briskodian | Hi Matt Eibach are the best , but they are on back order until October. There are other not as crude ways of tuning the car though. Remap. We can offer Custom-Code www.custom-code.co.uk This is the web site and should be able to help you. If the car does get lowered and your bother about bottoming out.Have a look for the extra strong sump guard. It could help you save a bit of money if you have a look on the GB ( group buys) section. But would stiffer springs not help stop the car from bottoming out? I know it would be 30mm lower, but it would be stiffer too, and would take more of a load without bottoming. JD

| Price seems right - just spoken to them and got details of a few local (dorset) suppliers. The car will bottom out when only I am in it (and I am only about 9 stone!) Cheers, Matt |

The car has covered about 70000 miles since mapping & weve had no problems. Personally I would recomend a re map every time We are in Winchester if you fancy a spin before deciding
