| Re: Instrument panel failed Hi, So sorry to learn of your problem. If this is really a serious thread, then try typing in the words 'instrument', or 'gauges', or 'dials', to the search key at the top of the screen on this forum, and you will find much that has been written previously on the subject, by myself and others that have had similar instrument related problems. | Briskodian | Re: Instrument panel failed yes Soviet I'm already read your mail and following your suggested but I was still on this problem. have you got a similar? I'm try to many times to check it all concern terminals and/or plugs but in my opinion was thinking about the power supply circuit on mainboard it has a problem, I try to change capacitor but it doesn't happen, I think some IC was a problem, I don't think about relays cause of i didn't hear any sounds when its work on and off, just look like a ghost living in my dash board. any suggests please let me know. thank you every so much. |

| Re: Instrument panel failed Hi, My problem was not as complex as I had originally thought, and was cured in the end by using a sharp probe of a multimeter to clean out the sockets. One should always try the simple things first, and then go deeper, to look for more complex problems. The relay has nothing at all to do with things as it is part of the immobilizer circuit only. I was only suspecting this from past experience, and with no circuit diagram. The next thing that I was going to try was to rig up two flying leads made out of computer ribbon cable with a male and female plug on each end, and then bridge out each of the electrolytic capacitors with a known good one, of a suitable size and working voltage to see if the display gauges would suddenly start to work. I did not have to go this far however. As you say it could be an IC playing up, and causing the problem, but I do not think so. Incidentally a 40 way ribbon cable can be cut to 32 way, as the pin layouts for the ribbon cable fit exactly with he spacing of the pins. This will allow you to fault it with power on, but obviously go careful as you don't want to cause another problem that was not there before by shorting something out. Hope that this is some help to you. Regards Soviet |
