Irritating sqeak and gear box question

I'm popping my car up for some warrenty work to be done and have previously asked the dealer about a squeak on my car and a notchy gearbox.

The gearbox is (I think) knotchy in that I can feel the teeth of the gears as i change gear and sometimes it won't go into gear at a standstill or I occasionally have to double de-clutch. Dealer says nothing is wrong. Somebody on here said try fully synth gearbox oil, so has anybody and sugegstions for the right one for an Octy TDi 110.

Also I am getting an odd sqeak from the car going over bumps (eg cr4p road surfaces). The garage has done the front arb/bushes, and this squeak is less sever than that. It also squaks when i shut the boot or the car doors. It's not the end of the world, just irritating and the warrenty expires soon so I would like to get it fixed.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Ta

Sometimes my gearbox feels a little rough, but I am hoping that might be caused by my slave cylinder.... Sometimes I need to double de-clutch to get reverse (having been in 2nd gear previously) - at the end of my trip home when I need to reverse into my drive way.

Is your slave cylinder dead then as the garage keep just fobbing me off and it's getting really annoying. Sometimes i can't get reverse, but more often it is first, or third if accelerating quite hard from second

Nope.... just pi55ing fluid everywhere ;-) and after a longer driver (couple of hours) I notice that I tend to get more "grunching" in the gear changes.

Re: Irritating sqeak and gear box question

I have noticed twice now that the clutch peddle was a bit unwilling to return back to the top of it's travel, so might have a poke of the dealers re that and get fully syth oil put in at the same time.

Anybody any suggestions for the squak over cr*p roads and when shutting door/boot?

Re: Irritating sqeak and gear box question

My pedal has stuck to the floor a number of times. That was just after the clutch was changed, and Westover advised I needed a replacement clutch master cylinder. That was replaced and all was fine, till I came back from Coventry (5hr drive) and then the pedal got stuck when reversing up my drive way. I took it out of gear, but it did not pop up, so I stuck my foot underneath it and flicked it back up.
