Re: JBS04 from jbs auto designs

If your turbo is in good condition Turbo Dynamics will fettle with yours and it will cost around £250-300 + vat that will get you around 265-280bhp.
They do other options as well.

Re: JBS04 from jbs auto designs

I'm just trying to look at a pad i have at work which i had details on,but i have scribbled over all the prices.
Give them a call as if i remember rightly they have a couple of options. The price that i posted IRC was for a K03S in good nick (no wear) to be fettled.
They are a good bunch of guys to telk to.

Re: JBS04 from jbs auto designs

Actually just been on to them and they have sent me a few emailed lists and prices. Seems they'll do a fettled turbo on a replacement basis for not much wonga (though it depends on the state of your curent turbo.)

Jay, did you actually use them in the end?

No i hav't used them as i was unsure if i was keeping this car (swapping for newer mk1) but i think i may give them a go if i can find a spare K03S in good nick and cheap enough.
My problem is i use the car daily so can't just take the turbo off and send it to them.
For the money (few hundred quid) it's well worth a try.Don't forget most of the fabia boys send their turbo's to them to get done.

what do you do from there in regards with mapping? jbs are custom code so im kinda thinking the map after will be of super smoothness

i did look at the ihi options

but with them offering me 330bhp i wouldnt be over settled with having my standard internals , with my past um? bad experiences ive got to be carefull this time , no more blown up cars lol
the jbs04 they offer i could build on if need be , althought it works out more of the green stuff, i think the 1st stage of 240bhp is around the 2k ?

Re: JBS04 from jbs auto designs

£250-300 to get a turbo rebuilt and modified?

sounds too cheap to me, as already said they sell the 300bhp turbo for about £1150 and i don't think an exchange turbo will knock £900 off the price.

It says UPTO 240

What have you done to your car so far?

£2,000 for maybe another 15bhp?

forge turbo intake pipe
induction kit
full milltek with cat and downpipe,
mike @jbs sent a RR showing 240 and 280lbs and ive been told the power will stay further into the revs where as my current rolling road shows it tailing off about 5

current 225 bhp + 237lbs

Re: JBS04 from jbs auto designs

I have got the same as you + a few more bits

I have had Revo 1 & 2 (212bhp)
Jabba Custom (249bhp)
Now Impossible Custom map and I would say it's running about 235 but the IP map is only 1bar(just over) which holds all the way through.

IMO for £340 for a custom map from IP you see as good gains against £2,000 fitting the KO4 with loads left over for brake & suspension upgrade

My car now drives so much smoother you just don't feel like your doing the speed until you look down and go

Re: JBS04 from jbs auto designs

if both mapped correctly a K03 will give upto about 220bhp where as a K04 will give upto about 270bhp.

what made you go from the jabba to the other mate? 249 on the k03s? is that not in the grounds of tears i had a k04-001 on my mk2 golf 20v and it blew up this is why im curious lol

although that was runnin a motech ecu and some bad mapping lots of problems due to company problems which now ive found out was due to the old owner not allowing time or cost to do the job properly not happy

Long story

IMO the figure Jabba gave me on the graph was just that.....a figure!

Most custom maps from Jabba get you 245-250 on their RR?

I switched the map as I had problems with it and I was not happy so I got my money back and changed again.

At the end of the day bhp & RR numbers are all pub figures it's the way the car drives that I'm more concerned with

when conversion go wrong it does indeed suck, i chucked over 8k on a 20v converison for my mk2 golf, and just ended up in having kmy long going project ruined ,
hence my deep curiousity this time
