Re: Just bought the car and got a few questions!!!!

Sounds normal, you dont always get the sound as it depends on the driving style and conditions.

You are out of luck with the changer, so far we have not found another manufacturer HU that can control the it.

I agree, the stock system isnt that good. The main cause of this though is the rubbish speakers. When I had the vRS, I changed the speakers in the door and this was a big improvement to the sound.

Contrarywise. I only ever hear the turbo going on-off with the window open.

Re: Just bought the car and got a few questions!!!!

Try driving with the passenger window open ONLY! and also try driving by a high brick wall on the passenger side (whilst window open!) and you will almost definately here is! i think the dump valve is on the passenger side of the engine!

Also try fitting a Green Panel Air Filter instead of the standard, it made my dump valve more noticable. Ask Kate at JKM motors for a quote on the filter. Mine was about £40 i think. Or change to a cold air intake (carbonio seem popular) this apparantly helps with the DV noise! Good chioce on the car, I hope you enjoy it!

What's so important about hearing the wastegate?
I would find the sound getting on my t*ts in no time.

I don't specifically want to hear the dump valve. I was just saying that I hadn't, and some other people were suggesting how you might.
