Question Just Wondering: Mot & Emissions after remap?

Hi,
Has anyone here (not including switchable maps) had an MOT since being remapped? Reason I ask is simply how does the untrained car enthusiast know whether their recently remapped car will actually pass the MOT/Emissions test?

My car was remapped more than well by Jabba Sports a year ago, and I still have 7-8 before the 1st MOT.

The only reason I've thought about this is that I noticed my car appears to produce a substantial amount of smoke/vapour at rest (even more noticeable now it's cold). Is this normal [Octavia vRS]?

Thanks

Rich

I had my first MoT test 14 days ago. I have a Jabba map on otherwise fairly standard 4x4. My results at fast idle:

CO: (Pass <= 0.20%): 0.00%
HC: (Pass <= 200 ppm): 3 ppm
Lambda (Pass 0.97 - 1.03): 1.00

So I think you're safe

You can even have a full decat and pass the emissions test (just). It's better to leave the climate control on economy though, thereby disabling the air con compressor. The extra load could just make a full decatted car tip over the acceptable level

Xavier's advice is sound. It's also interesting to note that you really can't poison yourself with the carbon monoxide output of your modern car. Suicidal people look elsewhere...

Question

All the above is good to hear , so thanks (mind at rest).

Still, does everyone else (1.8t owners) suffer from excessive vapour?

My vRS (unmapped) is a bit like a steam engine on very cold mornings, quite a large amount oif vapour. But usually it seems fine, in average weather conditions, comparable to my last car, a Festa VTec

CO -0% I find that a bit hard to believe, their sensor must be out. Perfect combustion in the environment of a car engine just aint going to happen.

BTW The CO2 will kill you by excluding oxygen and smoothering you (as apposed to actual poisoning).
