Leaky charge system

Can VAGCOM help identify where a leak maybe in my charge system, I've got a leak somewhere? Engine will normally spin 1.8bar of boost but it's sprang a leak. Go anywhere close to 1bar and there is a loud (and I mean loud) buzzing noise not dissimilar from a ship's fog horn with little further rise in boost unless you give the throttle plenty more welly.

It is well down on power (perhaps on par with a standard vRS), but still more than driveable and off boost there seems to be no ill-effect, fuel consumption etc is as expected. I've not fiddled with anything and all pipe work and clips seem sound on first inspection. Can VAGCOM help show where the problem may lie? (I've got the car booked onto the rollers at JKM but not until the 25th of the month).

Re: Leaky charge system

Not on a petrol as far as I know.

I have adapted a coolant pressure tester before now to check for leaks. Have you checked the vacuum pipes etc uner the inlet manifold?

A good point Ross. I've really looked at pipe work between turbo and throttle body - I hadn't considered the vacuum pipe work from the inlet manifold. Will investigate further.
