| lhd speedometer Hallo everybody I brought my octavia from continent and I would like to register it in UK. According to information on dvla website my speedometer need to show mph. Probably the simplest option would be fitting a sticker like a "white dials" to my original speedometer. Does anybody know how to get it? I have try Lockwood, eBay with no results. Another important question: are lhd and rhd speedometers calibrated same way and show same speed in the same places on the dials? maciek |

| Re: lhd speedometer I would imagine the setting of the country with VAG-COM would sort out the calibration issues and cause it to work with MPH. Have you thought about swapping the cluster?

| Re: lhd speedometer Nope, the calibration is the same, just the panel shows both MPH and KPH on uk dials and only Kph on all the others. Unless there is an easy way to reprogram to change the calibration, the easiest way would be to buy an new instrument cluster with MPH on it.

| Re: lhd speedometer IIR instrument cluster includes imobilisor etc etc (expensive to replace) . So.... wouldn't it just be easier to remove the clustor... remove the dials.... take out card/plastic mask with numbers and letters on (kph) and replace with the mask with MPH/KPH on then re-insert existing cluster just with different mask inside it ![]()

| Re: lhd speedometer Surely the callibration must be different? If you change the card you may be able to get a correct speed reading but the distance shown will be in k's not miles? |

| Re: lhd speedometer The MPH shows KMH aswell though, so in theory the needle will be in the same place.

| Re: lhd speedometer Had an LHD Jag here for 18 months, the distance display in KMs is perfectly fine. The only thing that needs sorting is the speedo.

| Re: lhd speedometer I have an instrument cluster with mfa display for an Octavia diesel if your interested? The kilometer display can be changed to show miles with VAG-COM. You could swap the plastic graduations as the dials come apart easily.

| Re: lhd speedometer Sorry, I meant that the Km display on maciek_pl's cluster can be changed to show the equivilant miles display not that the actual value could be changed.
