Re: lightened Single mass flywheel

I can only say avoid anything which is "lightened" - look for stuff which is just lighter off the shelf.

Re: lightened Single mass flywheel

HI m8

i fitted an uprated clutch an lightweight flywheel about a month ago an my car drives fine, seems a little bit more responsive too,

ive heard a car with a rattly noise but mines fine, maybe mines different?
the only noise ive heard is at low speed which is probably the springs in the friction plate,
no issues with mine yet,
i would recommend 1

Re: lightened Single mass flywheel

the 1 ecs do is steel and 14lbs it is also manufactured that way? i spotted one on jabba site too which is lightened ,
ive been told any rattle is only when the car is in neutral and the clutch pedal is up? just gathering peoples thoughts and experience
the other ive heard is if you can find a sachs agent and get the vr6 power clutch and a oe g60 flywheel which is 21 or 22lbs? but vw guys said there was a few options on the flywheels? huh? lol the ecs tunning stage 2 was around 400 i think and ok for 300lbs?

Re: lightened Single mass flywheel

The flywheel that you get in the G60 clutch set up , os the G60 set up
We do the kits @ £320.00 + VAT
That includes EVERYTHING to do the conversion
Then there is the ECS one
In my opinion , much of a muchness
We have sold LOADS of the ECS stage 1 kits @ £275 + VAT
Any clutch kit that contains the SMF will add a bit of noise
That is because you are replacing the DMF to SMF
It is not THAT bad , and as you have rightly said , it is only on tickover with your foot off the clutch pedal
If you want to remove the noise , you just put your foot on the pedal
But I dont think it is that bad
As I said , we have done loads

Re: lightened Single mass flywheel

my mk1 1.8t suffered no extra rattle or noise using a SMF, i think its only the 6 speed box that is affected.
