| Many thanks fellow Briskodians!! Been on this forum about a year now and finding it better all the time. As MY54 VRS estate is 4 in Sept I had a good search for items on belt changing at the 4yrs or 40k, mine is 30k. Followed the info. and bought a new water pump from Follets (excellent service) a new belt from Skoda and a local one man band who I know well fitted it for £100, which I didn't think was to bad. When I went to pick the motor up he showed me the old pump, half of it had disintegrated!! The damage looked recent! He had all the bits there as far as we could see and is now going to get a pump from Follets for his own Audi. If it hadn't been for you guys on here I might have been looking at a much larger bill!! Cheers. Last edited by Old Blue; 10-07-2008 at 18:11. Reason: spelling error |

| Re: Many thanks fellow Briskodians!! yes mine was the same a few weeks ago 4 years old 32k and a 1/2 disintegrated water pump. my mechanics words were "I am glad to told me to do it!" the really scary thing for me was that the dealers were saying it did not want swapping! the water pump is now a nice paperweight reminder on my desk ![]() |

| Re: Many thanks fellow Briskodians!! That was my experience too. So yet more confirmation that the water pump really should be checked if not changed every time the cambelt is replaced. ![]()
