Question Mega problems

I need help.
When I start my 1.8T octy in the morning, it starts up fine then the revs drop to 500rpm ish the engine splutters alot, the revs bounce around for 30 seconds then the car dies. When I drive it the thing seems to mis-fire then pull then mis-fire so on and so on, it gets a bit better when it's warm but it is going to cause me an accident soon if it carries on. Also the fans both come on when I start her up. I don't know where to start HELP!!!!
My nearest Skoda dealer is in Bradford but I don't know if I can trust it to get there and I have never took my car there before as always got work done in Mnachester where I got it.

Could it be: -
a) Coilpacks
b) MAF sensor
c) Split pipe
d) dodgy sensor
or all of the above!

I know this has been covered many times but just need your advice please

Re: Mega problems

Check what revision coil packs you have - search here or check DGW's gallery for pictures of the different types.

Re: Mega problems

Hooray they are the type H ones! that will be the problem. Is it worth speaking to the garage I bought the car from or should I just go to my new local?

Re: Mega problems

Thats a brilliant result, you should be pleased!

I think coil packs are changed foc by Skoda, its such a common thing, and it works out cheaper than recalling them all!

Glad you are sorted.

Re: Mega problems

It is actually like driving a new car again, it seems to pull better from lower in the rev range and feels alot smoother now, it's amazing how something like that can make you enjoy driving your car again. The only problem is now I want a remap to take advantage of it.

Also a big thumbs up to DM Keith in Bradford, they were very friendly and helpful. Guess where I am taking my car in future!

Re: Mega problems

Other than a miss fire the part number on them under the connector will be ended in the prefix up to 'H'.
