Re: Miltek louder when warm?

Could be something to do with heat expansion (maybe)
or you are going mad

Re: Miltek louder when warm?

The miltek I had on my old vRS expanded quiet a bit when it was hot, so yes its possible the expansion is causing the louder soundtrack.

Yep, sounds right to me, my Blueflame is louder after a 30 minute or so run.

Re: Milltek louder when warm?

I would have thought the opposite was true. Listening to a loud soundtrack for a prolonged period is likely to cause deafness. Therefore, the longer the listening period the quieter the exhaust note appears.

Re: Milltek louder when warm?

It certainly is SWMBO has put her foot down and ordered me to remove it, I'm not impressed having spent ages (and £) sorting the adaptor to make it fit! It's barely any louder than standard when it's cold but once warm it has quite a deep note on idle which apparently she can't live with, so it's back to the drawing board

Oh dear sad to hear it. Will it be a standard one for the foreseeable or are you after another stainless?

Re: Milltek louder when warm?

I think Milltek are about the closest to standard (sound wise) you can get so it looks like I'm stuck with standard

Re: Milltek louder when warm?

Does a CAT back give any sort of power increase with a standard CAT and downpipe still in place?

Re: Milltek louder when warm?

Just stay that because the Milltek is different, the old system had to be 'cut off', and it would be very expensive to re-fit as it would need a new standard system due to where the cut was made!

Worth a try
