MK 1 Octy combi rear spoiler

hi all
I'm new to this site so pardon my ignorance!I have a 02 combi elegence tdi 110 which I'm very happy with.

I have a few ICE mods done to date so now its time for some exterior mods! Firstly I'd like a rear spoiler.Has anyone any recommendations where's best to purchase from?

I'd also love to install fog lamps in replace of the blank grills on the front bumper.Does anyone know of a kit that can be got to do this?

Thanks for reading and for your time!!

Colin.....

i want one for my 4x4

not sure about fogs as you would probably need to make a kit up.

Re: MK 1 Octy combi rear spoiler

Apart from the vRS combi spoiler, I saw one in a recent Banzai ad that looks like it would go on below the window edge, and might cut the issue with spray sucking back onto the rear glass, which top spoilers don't affect.

Fog lights in the lower grilles would block air flow to the SMIC

I have one but thus far have been too lazy to get it painted and fitted.

Re: MK 1 Octy combi rear spoiler

Aren't the standard side panels solid, rather than vented? I know that Haynes illustrate the SMIC having a duct feeding from the side of the lower centre grille.

Re: MK 1 Octy combi rear spoiler

Must have a better look around there some time soon. Problem is rotten weather, and no garage.

Mine had a duct on the SMIC going to the side grille.

Re: MK 1 Octy combi rear spoiler

As I say, it's not what the piccies look like, and weather has precluded a detailed investigation since I got the manual.

More certain than ever that that arch liner wants swiss cheezing or a grille fitting though.

Re: MK 1 Octy combi rear spoiler

On the Octy MK I the fog lights are projectors integrated into the headlamp cluster.

Talking Re: MK 1 Octy combi rear spoiler

Hello again

Its been nearly a year but just dropping a line to say I finally got spoiler sorted and added reversing sensors while the paint was mixed!!
I also got my windows tinted [xmas pressie from herself]
Getting back to the foglight issue it can be done if you don't mind a bit of DIY. The kit costs £40 delivered and takes about 3 hours to do {PM me anyone who needs advice as it does look the dogs and confuses many!!]
As I was on holidays for the week and my mechanic buddy lent me some space in his garage I undertook the task of de-cokeing the VNT , EGR and manifold and boy let me tell you what a difference this made.My Octy has never been as powerful since I got it and its nearing 200k!!!
Finally hope you all had a good festive and all the best for 2008!

Colin

P.S.> photos of my combi to follow once I've the ICE installed {tackling that tomorrow!}

Re: MK 1 Octy combi rear spoiler

The Combi back window suffers from the same problem as did my previous Golf estate, namely that it gets absolutely filthy, does the rear spoiler help alleviate that significantly ?

Where is the cheapest place to buy ?

Thre is a guy selling them on eBay for £63
