Re: MK-I Or MK-II ??!

(VRS)mk1 was only available in petrol whereas mk2 are available in either petrol or diesel and an estate was made available. My knowledge runs out at that as im a Fabia man but in my opinion the mk2 is much better looking and less 'box-like'

thats assuming you mean the mark1 octy and the mk2 or if you mean the mk1 phase one and mk1 phase 2?? from what i can tell like the fabia the rear lights differ

Re: MK-I Or MK-II ??!

The mk1 is smaller by ALOT, the mk2 just does not look like I imagine a fast'ish car to be, however mk2's are very refined but then i spent ****loads of cash getting mine not to be lol......

Personaly i dont like the mk2 the front is just wierd...... like a fish gapping for air and its just to big..

Re: MK-I Or MK-II ??!

thank you all for all your attempts ideas ..but does have to do the year model? ..i.e ..up to certain year they are all mk1's and after that they are all mk2? ..because it seems thats even Golf and Audi's have mk's so there must be a main distinguishing feature ...

The distinguishing feature is that the MKI has a nearly 1800 cc engine and the MKII has best part
of a 2000 cc engine

So on paper the MKII should have more potential.....

Re: MK-I Or MK-II ??!

mark one pre facelift hatch doesn't have a rear wiper and rectangular rear lights, the post face lift gains a wiper and the lights become C shaped.

Mark two is less angular,

You can't go by plates, saw a 57plate Octavia MK1 being used as a Taxi somewhere near Port Talbot (lost in the Valleys/black Mountains so not sure where i saw it!)
