| Re: mk1 octavia xeon headlights HELP!! You would also require the front and rear axle load sensors, which adjust the beam level, and also headlight washers. The xenon lights were an option, and were around £500 i think. If you do decide to go down this route, you can get lamps cheaper at powerbulbs, and get a discount but i think you need to be a freedom member.

Re: mk1 octavia xeon headlights HELP!! they were standard on L&K's - check out your local wreckers. Bear in mind that if the air bags have been deployed the control units will be permanently disabled (this is a legal requirement to try to prevent the voltage causing fire in the event of an impact).

I'm pretty sure the option price for Xenons with washers when I bought my car was £660

Re: mk1 octavia xeon headlights HELP!! Xenons were available as an extra for all Octys and were about £600 however you buy the bits separately to do this aftermarket and they sting you for it. you need a lot more then just the houseing etc m8 and by the looks of things you gonna be forking out a fair bit more and like you said the bulbs are bloody expensive but they do look ooOOOOoOOo so cool ![]()

Re: mk1 octavia xeon headlights HELP!! The control units are more than £120. They're more like £300 per side IIRC. The bulb type in the Octavia Xenon's is a D2S (for dipped). I think the standard bulbs are about 4200k To do it properly, you would need both load sensors (front and rear), wiring looms, control units (2), D2S bulbs, headlight washers (nozzles, pipe work, larger tank, wiring, pump etc etc ). If it's possible, then it will be very expensive and pointless. The only realistic option is to buy a set of D2S bulbs and an after market kit to run them. Just remember that you won't have self leveling so strictly speaking they wont be road legal. HIDS4U might be able to help you out.

Re: mk1 octavia xeon headlights HELP!! There was a massive thread on cupra.net about how legal aftermarket hids are. It worth a read as there were quite a few arguments about it all including getting round the washers and self leveling elements

Re: mk1 octavia xeon headlights HELP!! Hey all, sorry if i have missed something in this tread, i have a White MK1 Ocy Vrs its the same speck as the WRC but no external grafix or number plack on the dash. It has got the HID headlamps fitted, am i right in thinking the bulb are D2S`s? I want them to be whiter than they are. On my Type R i had Retro fitted a set of H4 6000k hids and they were amazing, the standard ones on the ocy are very good, but not as good as the one i fitted to my type R. An help would be great guys. Cheers. Sam.
