| My clutch gave upon 130pd Octavia 130pd L&K estate. Any ideas on how long a clutch should last. No mods but dont hang about either. I managed just over 38000 miles and got the clutch changed under warranty!! Pedal bite seemed quite high, however I thought this would not change as the clutch is hydraulic and AFAIK the adjustment should be automatic. |

| Re: My clutch gave upon 130pd That sounds very short for a standard car to me. My 110 TDI is on 73k now with no signs of clutch problems

| Re: My clutch gave upon 130pd The garage said that there was still some life left in the clutch. They did say however that the tension on the clutch plates can reduce over time and sitting in traffic with the clutch depressed doesn't help apparently. The Car is 19 months old. |

| Re: My clutch gave upon 130pd I had a 110 Tdi, which had 125,000 on the clock, still original clutch, slight bit of judder, but nothing major, and that was running great. so 38,000 is very little. do you clutch ride, or wheel spin every where. if not thats nothing!!! |

| Re: My clutch gave upon 130pd Mainly motorway use with an estate full of tools. I'm mechanically sympathetic most of the time and this is the first time I have had a clutch fail in 20 years of motoring with bikes and cars. The dealer said that this is quite normal for 'company car drivers'. They mentioned that if there is minor slippage when using cruise-control for long periods that this can easily be missed. I suppose the cruise makes only minor adjustments and somehow compensates for the slippage. Incidentally the clutch now bites very close to the floor. |

| Re: My clutch gave upon 130pd Ug ... just noticed mine slipping today ... in 4th accelerating from about 40 and when the turbo kicks in the rpms rise (too) quickly and then drop back a bit. I've only had the car about 14 months and its got 22k on the clock This is definately not right ... I hope that I can get it replaced under warranty.
