| My RS just died........... After waiting 4 months for my Octavia RS to arrive I finally got it last Wednesday...only for it it to break down 250 miles later!!!! Just spent the last 2 hours at the side of the road with the AA man eventually discovering that it was a 5 amp fuse blown which according the manual should be a 10 amp. The worrying thing is the manual has it listed as fuse 37 (S Contact) which apparently covers electrical items used after the ignition has been switched off - but when it blew I was travelling at 40mph and the car just cut out completely, then the engine just turned over continually but didn't fire. Anyone know if this is normal when the S Contact fuse blows or have they numbered them wrong in the manual? Apart from this little hiccup though the cars amazing!!! |

| Amazing cars, yes. Are you sure you are looking at the right fuse, The fusebox diagram is a pain to look at because its for a lhd car. You need to look at it in a mirror and then its the right way round.

I know what your saying we realised that when we got the manual out. Fuse 37 though is in the same position whichever way you look at it - that's why I'm confused as to why it kills the whole engine. Don't fancy that happening in the outside lane of the motorway!! Seems back to normal now though ![]() | |

| But if it only had a 5 amp in place and it should have been a 10 amp, its not suprising it blew as it wouldnt be able to take the load put through it. I would replace it with the manual spec fuse, and assume its all correct now.
