| Hello, I am driving a 2000 Octavia 1.6i and wonder what could be the cause of the fuelly smell which blows into the interior. I checked the engine and noticed one of the air-tubes was cut, so I taped it. However the engine-smell remains. Especially when I am not driving but the engine is running. Only when I put on the air reconducting taste it is gone. I could change the airfilter, but this of course would only solve it for a while. What could be the problem? Any suggestions? Thanks. |

| Re: need fresh air! Well you have a fuel/exhaust leak from somewhere if you can smell fuel. I think somebody on here mentioned a carbon canister or something, so it might be worth doing a search as i am sure i remember this comming up before. Hopefully somebody else who knows more can give you more info on it ![]()
